| We are now finally in a position to start implementing the first phase of our brand new and long awaited 'As-It-Happens' site feature. This really interesting & somewhat groundbreaking feature will be expanded upon over the next few weeks. The 'As-It-Happens' feature will allow our visitors to see what is actually happening on the site in real time. It will include events such as new software reviews, new software titles, software updates & new or updated discounts, to mention a few. Most of these events will be logged into a database & will effectively become a history of our web site & even more useful, a history of software versions, that will be viewable (via an optional filter) on our new 'As-It-Happens' page, in addition to displaying product specific history on the relevant software detail pages. Furthermore, eventually visitors will be able to be notified via email or possibly even a twitter feed of any number of events as they occur i.e. if the software you are interested in suddenly becomes discounted or the vendor adds some great new features to their software you will be the first to know about it. Apart from offering better features than our more stayed software download competitors this massive update of our web site is also to encourage a better community spirit on the site as a whole. To further this aim we will be implementing features to enable visitors to help each other to choose the right software & even perhaps to offer help with a specific piece of software. This will be part of an ongoing program of improvements to our popular software download site. We really do hope everyone will enjoy all the innovative changes we are adding to our web site & subsequently will find our web site more engaging & community focused. |
